Table Task

Create a table of destinations.  You may wish to include these headings: Place, Weather conditions, Landscape and Survival

The purpose of this document is to compare a variety of settings suitable for an adventure story.

You are offered the opportunity to make decisions and choose how you prepare and present this part of the work. The only two things you must do are:

·         research the information carefully

·         create and complete a table using headings of your choice

The hints given below may help you to plan and organise your thoughts - and don't forget to use the Problem Solving Wheel to help you to keep your thinking on track.

Place

This is the name of the location. An extra bit of information is sometimes an advantage, but it might make your table look a bit cluttered. You decide.

Weather Conditions

Think of the purpose of this table. Are the weather conditions survivable? You decide what information would be useful.

Landscape

What physical features lend themselves to the excitement of an adventure story?

Survival

Think about the conditions in this place. If you were stranded how would you survive. For example, would you be able to build a shelter? Is there food? Could you be rescued?
